Masala Potato Chips

Ingredients:

  1.  3-4 Potatoes
  2.  Sunflower oil/olive oil for frying
  3.  1 tbsp chili powder
  4.  2 tbsp coriander powder
  5. 1 tbsp cumin powder
  6. 2 tsp dry mango powder
  7. Salt to taste

Prep.time: 5 mins, Cooking time: 10 mins

Serves: 2

Calorie intake: 100 gms = 228 cal

Procedure: 

  1. First step is to slice the potatoes. Just in the shape of Potato crisps or chips.
  2.  Now in a frying pan, heat the oil and keep the flame at medium. You can also use fryer.
  3. Fry the potato slices in small batches till they are golden. Fry in medium flame as fast flame may burn the potato slices or it won’t get cooked through.
  4. Now in a bowl, place kitchen paper or tissue so that any excess oil is removed.
  5. Now add all the spices to it viz. chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder and salt. You can also add black pepper instead of chili powder.
  6. Make sure that all these spices properly coat the fried potato slices.
  7. Masala Potato Chips are ready to serve.

This dish is super easy to make and isn’t time consuming. It makes for a great side dish or an evening snack. Also it can be a great afternative to normal French fries. It can be served alongside Burgers and will go great with Fried fish. An Indian twist to classic Fish and Chips. Hope you give it a try and enjoy.
